The dashboard provides a modern UI that is easy to use and quick to master. By pushing Design Studio to the limits using CSS3 and Javascript, we can provide beautiful UI, and interactive layouts, without the need of thridparty Design Studio extensions.

Your users will have their own specific needs for the dashboard. That is why the dashboard is only a template, that can be easily modified to different functional areas and users groups, either by us or your own internal Design Studio developers.

The dashboard is ready to be implemented in any organization utilizing SAB BO Design Studio 1.6 or newer, with no need for extensions.

THE CASE
A secondary user group were the KPI owners who needed customized detailed views of individual KPI's, in order to communicate KPI specific details, trends and cause and effect. We had to incorporate these detailed views in the dashboard without compromising the executive user's simple overview.
Finally, the commentary feature was required for all users to allow key stakeholders to easily communicate about the KPI results directly in the dashboard.
IN BRIEF
The customer needed an Operations Dashboard for executive users. The design had to be user friendly and optimized for displaying KPI's across different areas, regions, companies and periods. We created an intuitive flexible dashboard in SAP BO Design Studio, which also allowed users to share comments across all drill levels.
The user requirements and the ongoing iterative process provided a line of technical and functional challenges that had to be solved within the boundaries of Design Studio, e.g. commentary feature, hierarchy maintained drill menus as well as a modern and user friendly UI.
The users were not common query or business users but high level decision makers that needed fast and responsive UI to provide drills and comment input/output at the blink of an eye.
